From the Editor,

We are very proud to present the first issue of TAM Academy journal with you, our readers. Our journal, which we decided to publish under the umbrella of the Center for Social Research (TAM), which we established at the beginning of 2022 to understand, explain, and discuss the issues in the field of social sciences, begins its publication life with the claim of creating a prelude to Turkish being the language of science again. TAM Academy, as an international peer-reviewed social sciences journal, appears to the scientific world with five articles, four in Turkish and one in English, in its first issue. The first of these remarkable academic studies belongs to Meltem Özel; In the tension created by the Russia-Ukraine war, Finland, which is frequently on the agenda within the framework of its application for NATO membership, this time, Özel deals with Finland within the scope of national policies implemented in media and information literacy education. In the second article, Umut Bekcan discusses how neoliberal policies have turned football into an industrial phenomenon, based on the example of the Champions League. In the third article, Ferhat Gücüyeter analyzes the media presentation and image of the neighbourhood watchmen, who have been on the agenda on various occasions, in terms of public relations. In the fourth article, Ekrem Çankırlı examines the pandemic process, which has remained on the agenda for the past two years and caused great difficulties in every field, especially health, in the context of its effects in the field of education. Çankırlı emphasizes the importance of establishing standards on the subject in his article where he criticizes the distance education practices, which have gained much more importance during the pandemic period. The fifth and final article is from Cameroon. In her English article, Male Aichetou Makwen discusses the evolution and present day of journalism in Cameroon. Center for Social Research, which includes TAM Academy, continues to bring scientists together with international social science congresses. You can access all the presentations and detailed information about the TAM 1st International Social Sciences Congress, which we organized for the first time in Antalya's Kaş district, on tamuskon.org and our YouTube channel. Our Center, which has set out with the claim of being a fully academic, fully scientific, and fully universal think tank, will grow and develop and serve humanity with the contributions of you, valuable scientists. We are honored to meet the scientific world with the first issue of TAM Academy journal and hope it will be beneficial for everyone.
